Baywatch babe and Playmate Elke Jeinsen tells Celebritymate exclusively that life's a beach...
"Baywatch was great," the blonde Swede reveals. "Every day from sunset to sunrise being on the beach with cool people. It was a long day, but a lot of fun!"
Before joining the buoyancy-aided, body beautifuls at Baywatch, Elke was Elke -Babewatchposing for Playboy Germany and modeling all over the world. But she soon settled for L.A. as her permanent home and began working at one of the most ogled beaches on the planet. To be frank, Ms Jeinsen's good looks virtually guaranteed her a job as a lady lifeguard.
"I didn't have any lifeguard training, but we did some swim and deep-sea diving training."
Elke was soon rubbing shoulders, and rescue cans (the orange plastic floatation device worn around the neck), with the stars; including Pamela Anderson, Nicole Eggert, and even Michael Knight himself - David Hasselhoff.
"David was always very nice to me and very special. We talked German together; he and I liked that. He is very very famous in Germany."
Nevertheless, life at the beach wasn't all sun and surf. "There was a lot of gossip and a lot of love stories behind the scenes.
"Eventually, because of jealousy, we got told that Baywatch can no longer work with any Playmates. All because we were getting more attention than David Hasselhoff!"
So, after first working for two years on the show, off and on, and then a further year as a regular, Elke left Baywatch when they moved the show to Hawaii.
Although she wouldn't hesitate to jump back into the famous red swimsuit. "No question. Any time - but Baywatch as a TV-series is over forever. They might do a movie and, if yes, I will be part of it."
Now Elke finds she's busy with many new acting opportunities, including a new TV series called 'Lost Angels.'
Elke "I do act a lot. Sometimes you work on a big movie like 'Charlie's Angels' or 'Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles' and when you go to the premiere you find out that your whole entire scene has been cut out! That is very disappointing - but every acting experience is good."
Jeinsen also still turns up regularly in the pages of Playboy. "I see Hugh Hefner all the time. He is a wonderful charmy man, who opened the doors to America for me."
Yet, Elke is keen to take a trip back home to Europe. "I do look forward to going home in October for the rest of the year, if work is well." And when her homesickness subsides, no doubt the doors to America will be open, awaiting her swift return to our screens.
